The Hospice of St Francis Love to Give charity shop on Berkhamsted High Street is running an Ascot hat promotion which will include a silent auction for a stunning Philip Treacy hat.

The Hospice of St Francis Love to Give charity shop on Berkhamsted High Street is running an Ascot hat promotion which will include a silent auction for a stunning Philip Treacy hat.

Philip Treacy kindly donated a beautiful hat to the hospice team after a direct approach from shop volunteer, Kim Hall.

The brand new hat, a slanting navy cloche with cream buntal twists and flower, is worth more than £500 will have a minimum starting bid of £25.

Customers will be invited to come into the shop and try the hat on before entering their bid. The auction will close on Monday June 9 and the highest bidder will get to take the hat home.

The Philip Treacy creation will form the centrepiece of a wider Ascot Hat and Outfit Promotion which will see the 
Berkhamsted store showcasing daywear, dresses and headpieces suitable to wear at the iconic horse racing event which starts 
on June 17.

Love to Give shop manager Jackie Kew said they were fortunate to have the hat as a star attraction.

“We are extremely lucky to have this beautiful Philip Treacy cloche and also fortunate it coincided with a large donation of lovely, brand-new, hats from a milliners which closed down.

“If you need a hat for Ascot, our Hospice Garden party on Sunday or a summer wedding it’s worth dropping by to browse our stunning collection.”
