Officers from Herts Police will show of their new, cutting edge mobile data technology at the Herts County Show on Saturday and Sunday.
Their new equipment include Panasonic Toughpad FZ-G1 rugged tablets with Windows 8 Pro and a high resolution multi-touchscreen and a 4G broadband router enabling high-speed internet connectivity
Chief Inspector Damien Kennedy, who heads up the Mobile Data Team, said: “The mobile technology is saving operational officers’ time.
“They can complete a number of enquiries ‘on the go’ at the touch of a button without having to return to their patrol base.
““It also makes perfect business sense, as we will be making massive savings in the future, which is in line with the Police and Crime Commissioner’s strategic plan Everybody’s Business.”
The Rural Operational Support Team (ROST) will be using the technology at the show this weekend.
The county show attracts more than 38,000 visitors, putting Dacorum firmly on the map through the promotion of the great range of attractions and things to do there.
