A church build is back on track and due to be completed by February - a whole year after the original finish date.

Work to create a new Methodist church in Hemel Hempstead stalled after problems with the original contractors.

But now new builders - Life Build Solutions Ltd - have been brought in to continue the project.

Hemel Hempstead Methodist Church minister Rev Vindra Maraj-Ogden said: “I’m told this happens with all building work - it very rarely comes in on time. It has been a wait but we are getting there. It is very exciting.”

Work at the Northridge Way site started in December 2012 when the church was demolished to make way for a new place of worship.

By April 2013, contractors were running behind.

Once the work is completed in February, a celebration event is being planned for around May time.
