Challenge Yourself: Have a Heart and help a Foundation of Britishness

The British Heart Foundation urgently needs volunteers to help at their charity shop in the Marlowes and to collect donated items from customer’s homes.

BRITISH HEART FOUNDATION

The British Heart Foundation urgently needs volunteers to help at their charity shop in the Marlowes and to collect donated items from customer’s homes.

The shop is full of fabulous donated goods, everything from pre-loved fashions and books to bric a brac.

If you are a fashionista with a love of shoes and bags, a bookworm or just a big kid at heart then maybe you could help out in the book room, accessories or toy department.

General assistants are also needed to sort donations, steam clothing to make garments look their best, welcome customers and keep the shop floor clean and tidy.

Could you use your driving skills and a little of your free time for a great cause? Volunteer owner drivers are needed to collected donations from customer’s homes.

Not everyone can get along to the Marlowes based charity shop, so if you could collect donated goods for us you will be making sure we don’t miss out on some great items.

If you have a little free time and are passionate about the cause, this could be the role for you. Times can be arranged to suit individuals and expenses are paid.

Heather Club

A club for frail and elderly people urgently needs help.

Patient volunteers with good people skills are needed to help out on either Mondays or Wednesdays at the Heather Club that runs from Carey Baptist Church in the Marlowes.

The club offers a caring and friendly setting where members who may have memory problems can enjoy socialising and a range of stimulating activities.

The club runs from 10am until 3pm and volunteers can help for part or all of that time. Volunteers are asked for a commitment of at least six months.

Volunteer Dacorum

We help over 470 charities and community groups to find the voluntary help they need.

This week, there are 300 different ways you could help in your community; from conservation to catering and from packing to probation work.
