The last day of half term week was awesome for the youngsters who took part in a skateboarding lesson to raise money for Berkhamsted’s Swan Youth Centre.

The event at the town’s Canal Fields skate park was meant to be held from 10am to noon between Tuesday and Friday.

But organiser and youth centre coordinator Clare Muir said: “It’s a shame that the weather wasn’t kind to us and we had to cancel the first three of the four sessions.

“We will be running more over the summer holidays and if anyone wants to find out more about them they can contact me.”

The event is aimed at eight to 12-year-olds – helmets, pads and skateboards are available to borrow, but must be booked in advance.
