A PAIR of women are gearing themselves up to take place in a full marathon next year to raise money for the Hospice of St Francis.
Becky Stephens, 39, of Grovehill, Hemel Hempstead, and Sally Perkins, 35, of Woodhall Farm, are taking part in the Brighton marathon on April 10.
But not only are the pair training hard in preparation, they are also working hard to reach their sponsorship goal of £750 each - and are asking for help from the public to help them reach overall goal of £1500.
Becky said: “We’ve already raised £750, but it’s getting quite difficult now. It’s a lot of money and we’re doing the best we can.
“For the marathon we’re training twice a week and we’re confident we can do it.
“At first I thought we’d never be able to run the full 26 miles, but we’re getting better with time.
“It’s certainly a challenge but if we can get the sponsorship I’m sure we’ll make it.”
