Man charged with drink driving after Hemel Hempstead smash with parked car

A man has been charged with drink-driving after hitting a parked car in a smash that left his 18-year-old female passenger with a suspected broken arm.

Thomas McEwan, 22, of Larchwood Road, Adeyfield, was charged with the offence after his Toyota Aygo hit a Nissan Micra in Gadebridge Road at 4.40am on Sunday.

The passenger was taken to Watford General Hospital.

McEwan will appear at St Albans Magistrates Court on Friday, October 26.
