A CHARITY book shop that feared it would run out of stock is now so jam packed with page turners it can only accept paperbacks.
Hemel Hempstead Lions put out an urgent appeal earlier this year after eager readers almost cleared the shelves at its base in Marlowes Shopping Centre.
Since opening in April, the shop has raised around £18,000 for good causes.
Club branch president Carol Smith said: “We would like to thank everyone who has helped us achieve this. We are still accepting donated books but due to a lack of space we regret we can only take paperbacks at the moment.”
