High-profile chef and food campaigner Hugh Fearley-Whittingstall will be at Berkhamsted’s Here cafe in Lower King’s Road tomorrow, Wednesday, evening from 6pm to 8pm, signing copies of his books and meeting fans.
He has a small stake in the new eaterie, and co-owner Debbie Manners is managing director of the TV company that makes his River Cottage programmes.
Debbie said: “Hugh doesn’t normally do signings at cafes and restaurants, but he is a minority investor in Here.
“We are all about supporting local and using local and independent suppliers. We support small independent producers and aim to be sustainable and fair in all our business relationships – that’s an ethos which River Cottage and Hugh also espouse.”
There will be copies of Hugh’s latest book, River Cottage Fruit Everyday and earlier bestsellers, including the original River Cottage Cookbook, available.
