A COUNTRYSIDE pub in the middle of Ashridge could be about to get a makeover.
Managers of The Bridgewater Arms in Nettleden Road, Little Gaddesden, plan on repainting and recarpeting the venue and adding new curtains and furniture inside.
They also plan on installing a new fence in their car park to replace one that is rather old.
Manager Nicola Draycott said: “It is a lovely pub as it is – we just want to spruce it up a bit and attract some new customers.
“The place is a bit tired and we are just bringing it into the 21st Century.
“But it is still going to be a country pub. We are not going to change the character of what we are and what we do here.”
The pub submitted plans for the work to Dacorum Borough Council earlier this month, and the group will now decide whether to let it to go ahead.
