A pageant crown beckons for a young sales assistant from Grovehill who has reached the final of a charity beauty contest.

Aspiring beauty queen Lily Vansittart, 17, is up against 13 other teens in the final of the Miss Charity Heart competition on Sunday, February 24, which will raise money for the British Heart Foundation.

She said: “This charity is especially close to my heart because my nan suffers from liver and heart disease.

“All the money that we raise will go towards new equipment like heart rate monitors.”

The competition is being organised by Miss Teen Walsall, Jess Watts, after her father suffered two heart attacks.
