A CHARITY has relaunched a scheme that aims to help the emergency services save lives.

Message in a Bottle by the Berkhamsted Lions allows people to collect free plastic bottles where they can store their medical and personal details.

These include a form that lists conditions they may take medication for, where medication is kept, details of allergies and name of GP.

The bottle, which has a large green cross on its side, is put inside the door of the householder’s fridge.

A green cross is put on the outside of the fridge door, and another is stuck on the inside of the front door.

Berkhamsted Lions is providing the bottle free of charge, and it’s available from all Berkhamsted doctors’ surgeries and the town library.

Lion Alex Evans said: “We’ve realised that it’s not just senior citizens and vulnerable people who need to have [them], but also anyone with dependants.”

Phone 01442 872502 if your organisation can help promote the scheme.
