Plans to begin a massive revamp of LeisureWorld in Hemel Hempstead during the summer failed to materialise.

Landlords Capital & Regional were given planning permission in March to build eight new restaurants but a summer start date has been put back as talks continue to ‘pre-let’ the units.

Nando’s, Frankie and Benny’s, Chiquito and Bella Italia have been mentioned as potential tenants.

David James, in charge of national developments, said plans were ‘progressing well’ and they would ‘reinforce Jarman Park’s position as a strong retail and leisure location’.

He said:“We are currently in advanced talks with a number of exciting family dining and leisure brands we hope to bring to Hemel.

“At the moment, our priority is to secure these pre-lets to enable the earliest start.”
