CONTROVERSIAL plans for the development of a derelict house and its grounds within Berkhamsted’s conservation area have been refused for a second time.

Councillors said the latest application for The Grey House in Kitsbury Road was not significantly different from the original plans which were refused by the committee in 2011 and later upheld at appeal by the planning inspectorate.

The latest plans have seen the development reduced by one dwelling and some earlier proposed changes to the facade of The Grey House have been scrapped.
