St John Ambulance is opening a new Badger sett in Berkhamsted and is hoping to enrol youngsters who are interested in learning first aid.

Badgers are the charity’s youngest volunteers and are aged between seven and 10. Their structured programme of learning can ultimately lead to them being given a Super Badger Award.

The new sett will be based at St John Ambulance’s premises on Bell Lane in Northchurch and will be open between 5.45pm and 7.15pm tomorrow (Tuesday March 7) for parents who are interested in finding out more about what the Badgers learn and do.

Badgers that sign up will attend a weekly meeting in term-time where they will be taught first aid and a variety of other useful life skills.

The charity is also keen to hear from anyone who would be interested in being a youth leader or the manager of the Berkhamsted Badger sett.

Details about these roles can be found at www.sja.org.uk/sja/volunteer.aspx. All potential adult volunteers will need to pass an Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service check.
