A female jogger was attacked by a man as she ran along a footpath near Tring yesterday afternoon (August 10).

Police are investigating the incident, which happened at around 4pm, on a footpath in a field off Little Tring Road, on the outskirts of the town.

The woman, in her 40s, was jogging along the path when a man approached her from behind.

He pulled her to the ground but the woman screamed for help and fought him off.

The attacker then ran away into a hedge towards Little Tring Road.

The suspect is described as white, aged between 20 and 30, of slim build and around 5ft 8ins to 6ft tall.

He has short, dark brown hair and brown eyes.

He was wearing baggy or loose long black shorts and a grey sweatshirt.

During the struggle it is believed the woman may have caused injuries to the man’s face, so he may still have these injuries.
