A man has been jailed and fined after going on a vandalism spree in Greggs Bakery in The Marlowes.

Robert Bacon, 31, was given a six-week jail sentence, and ordered to pay compensation of £100 plus a victim surcharge of £80, by Hatfield Magistrates’ Court on March 9.

Bacon, of Rickmansworth Road, Watford, pleaded guilty to destroying food produce and other items of a value unknown but under £5,000. The court heard that he put people in fear and threatened violence.

Bacon was sentenced to serve one week in jail concurrently, for resisting arrest. He will also serve 10 weeks as he received a suspended sentence following a previous conviction.
