Name of the organisation:

Berkhamsted Choral Society

What are your main aims and objectives?

From the lifelong choral singer or church choir member to those who simply want to sing for the joy of it, our common purpose is to enjoy what we do and do it as well as we can.

Where do you meet and how often?

Music Room, Berkhamsted School, Castle Campus, Mill Street, Berkhamsted HP4 2BB. Tuesdays 8pm to 10pm.

What sort of people are your members?

Members come from all walks of life and bring with them a wide range of experience. Age range 18 to 80.

If someone was considering membership, what would you say to them to convince them to sign up?

Everyone can sing – don’t believe what you were told at school. Come along and give it a try. We’re a non-auditioning choir; you can attend three rehearsals without commitment.

Please give us an idea of your activities in the last six months, and what do you have lined up for the future?

September – concert: Tour music at St Peter’s Church, Berkhamsted.

September – Nowell! Nowell!: Workshop open to all discovering the carols of Chris Williams, part of the BBC Choral Ambition Scheme.
