Slimmers who have dropped pounds have put the clothes that are now too big for them to good use.

Slimming World members from 11 weight loss groups in Hemel Hempstead donated 129 bags of clothing to the town centre’s Cancer Research UK shop in Marlowes.

Each bag is estimated to be worth around £30 in stock to the good cause, which adds up to a bumper £3,870.

Store manager Theresa McDonald said: “We were thrilled to receive such a huge donation.”

Slimming consultant Pamela Port, who runs the Apsley and Adeyfield groups, said: “Everybody was quite keen to do it especially because it is going to such a good cause.”

The national weight loss group has chosen Cancer Research UK as its charity to support for the financial year.
