Images of jewellery stolen during a burglary have been released by the police in an effort to find them and catch the person who took them.

A gold starfish bracelet, flower tiara and gold Rotary watch (pictured), a gold chain owl necklace and cash were taken during the break-in.

The thief forced his way through a window to get into the home in Greenway, Berkhamsted, at some point between Friday, August 22, and Monday, August 25.

Assistant investigator Lisa Walsh said: “The items stolen are quite distinctive and hold a lot of sentimental value for the victims.

“I would like to hear from anyone who has been offered them for sale, or knows of their whereabouts; they should to contact me straight away.

“Equally, I would like to hear from anyone who may have seen anyone or anything unusual or suspicious in the area of the burglary between the Friday and Monday.”

Anyone with any information about what happened should contact her on 101, quoting crime reference D2/14/636.
