House callers get a fright night surprise at Woodhall Farm home

A family handed out almost 600 treats to fans of the most spooky night of the year after spending hours turning their home into a haunted house.

The Lamarr family’s Halloween celebrations first started as a simple window display but their enthusiasm for the fright night has grown over the past 10 years and spooky decorations now take over their whole house in Denham Close, Hemel Hempstead.

They spent much of last Thursday putting up the decorations – complete with inflatables, smoke machines and lasers – and the neighbours lent a hand, too.

Dad Robin, who lives with wife Tara and their children Karis, 13, and Caide, 11, said: “It’s great that the whole community can come out and get together. We were lucky enough that Tesco.com supplied us with sweets to giveaway to the trick or treaters. Everyone was in great spirits and enjoyed themselves.”
