A charity boss is setting a good example by signing up to the Chilterns Three Peaks Challenge.
Chief executive of Rennie Grove Hospice Care Jenny Provin is leading the way by pledging to take on the five-mile walk.
It will be second year running that she has taken part in the fundraiser, happening on Sunday, September 14.
There is a choice of three routes on the day, covering five, nine or 18-miles.
Jenny, who will be doing the challenge with her husband Luiz, said: “The local community really get behind this event and it’s heartwarming to hear from those taking part and raising sponsorship in memory of a loved one who was cared for by our nurses.”
The hospice offers around the clock at home care and relies on the generosity of the public to fund around 85 per cent of its £6.5 million annual cost.
Last year the Chilterns Three Peaks Challenge raised more than £30,000 - enough to fund a nurse for a whole year.
It costs £20 to register for the challenge, or £10 for children, aged five to 16, with under fives going free.
