Following on from a successful launch event at Ashridge House last month, the Dacorum Heritage Trust team continue with their campaign to connect to the community with another antiques valuation day next week.

This time they are teaming up with experts from noted auction house Bonhams to cast the eye over heirlooms and curiosities at Shendish Manor.

The session on Thursday runs from 10am to 4pm, and as before anyone who turns up with an item of interest will be asked to contibute £3 per item for an expert assessment – but please don’t empty the entire attic, there’s a limit of five items per punter.

On the archive front, the DHT team has sent out an appeal for images of the former St Paul’s Hospital or the workhouse that preceded it. They’d love to hear from anyone who can supply old photographs of the site from any time in its history.

It was originally established in 1836 but the area was redeveloped for housing some years ago.
