PEDAL power helped raise about £1,400 for a charity that aims to prevent knife crime.
Nick Barron rode a static bike for five and half hours in Hemel Hempstead on Saturday because he wanted to do something positive to remember 21-year-old Billy Dove, who was stabbed in the town centre last year.
Nick, 42, said: “I didn’t know Billy but a lot of my young members of staff where I work at Halfords were very upset by what happened. I have a 20-year-old son myself so it hit home.”
Passers by and Nick’s friends, family and colleagues also had a go on the bikes that were set up near Bank Court.
The money raised will go to the Kiyan Prince Foundation and Nick would like to thank all the people who donated money.
