A VILLAGE’S first organised run will raise cash for a worthy cause.

The Gaddesden Gallop will start and finish at the Little Gaddesden Sports Field in Church Road.

The race begins at 11am on Sunday, April 3, and will take joggers through the Ashridge Estate to Nettleden, then St Margaret’s, Hudnall Corner and back to Little Gaddesden.

Entry to the 10k run is £10 per person.

A shorter children’s fun run will begin at 2pm - entry costs £3 per child.

There will be a bar, barbecue, tea and cake stalls.

The money raised will go towards a new roof for the Little Gaddesden Sports Pavilion in Church Road.

Co-organiser Natasha Bermingham said: “We hope that year after year, it will grow and become a really big village event.”

If a hit the race will raise cash for a different good cause each year.
