Harpenden's first beer fest
There will be plenty of beer and cider drinking in Harpenden when its CAMRA group holds its first beer and cider festival at Harpenden Public Hall on June 26 and 27.
There will be about 60 real ales including former Champion Beers of Britain, foreign beers from all over the world, and a great selection from local brewers at the event.
There will also be a good range of real ciders and perries will be available, including Hertfordshire producer, Millwhites, as well as a selection of bottle-conditioned beers.
Organised by the South Hertfordshire branch of CAMRA, who run St Albans Beer Festival, Harpenden Town Council has given them full backing to run a second celebration of real ale in the area.
To celebrate the inaugural event, the iconic double-decker bus of Wells and Young's brewery will be taking to the road to visit the festival.
It will dispense pints of Wells Bombardier English Premium Bitter to thirsty festival attendees, who will get a special preview of the bus's interior.
