Hamlet will double in size

PROPOSALS that will double the size of a hamlet with the building of 26 homes have been given the thumbs up by councillors.

Developers have been working for three-and-a-half years to put together the eco-friendly plan for a former egg packing site in Lukes Lane, Gubblecote, near Tring.

But 13 householders living nearby submitted a petition to Dacorum Borough Council opposing the size of the development, saying it does not take into account the impact on infrastructure and highway safety concerns.

The council’s development control committee voted to delegate the plans to officers with a view to approval subject to the completion of a planning obligation under a Section 106 Agreement.
