Mayor of Berkhamsted Ian Reay will release doves in the High Street at 1pm on Saturday to mark the official opening of a new funeral home.

There will also be a piper and a horse-drawn hearse and motorcycle hearse on display during the 10.30am to 2pm open day at The Co-operative Funeralcare.

The public will be able to learn more about the work of a funeral director and how funerals can be personalised during the event. Visitors will be offered a guided tour of the funeral home.

Deputy mayor of Dacorum Allan Lawson and his wife Wendy will also be there.

The funeral home opened in July.
