Grant will support young people

A cash donation will provide counselling for children who have suffered trauma.

Herts Talent has been given more than 800 to offer 10 Hemel Hempstead children a place on its Rainbow Project.

The scheme offers 12 weeks of counselling supported by a parallel programme of dance and drama.

It is aimed at eight to 17 year olds who have suffered severe trauma such as the loss of a parent, abuse, serious illness or bullying.

The cash was allocated to the scheme by councillor Ron Tindall from his share of Herts County Council's locality budget.

The scheme allows councillors to hand-pick worthy community groups in

their area for cash grants.
