Former students from a prestigious performing arts school are making waves in two of the country’s most popular television shows – Downton Abbey and X Factor.

On Sunday night 23-year-old Lily James made her debut on Downton Abbey as Lady Rose.

Lily, who went to Tring Park School when she was 13, is the third alumni from the school cast in the popular period drama. Jessica brown Findlay played Lady Sybil until recently and Amy Nuttall plays Ethel.

Meanwhile 16-year-old Ella Henderson has continued to win praise from the X Factor judges each week in the live finals.

The youngster is the only young female act left in the televised talent show and is the bookies favourite to win the show, quoted at five to four odds by William Hill.
