England Golf are focusing on getting females, young and old, to pick up a set of clubs and have a go on the green.

Esther Strous, county development officer for Hertfordshire, is a former pro golfer herself and over the past year she has seen regular participation go from 176 and to 406.

There are taster sessions and academy days throughout the county, and the closest is at Little Hay Golf Club in Bovingdon on Sunday, July 17.

The day is for women and girls who have recently taken up the sport to have light-hearted competition on the nine-hole course.
