Members of the public are invited to give bowls a try for free at Hemel Hempstead Bowls Club’s open day later this month.
People of all ages and abilities can turn up between 10am and 4pm on Saturday, April 27, where club coaches and members will be on hand to share tips and advice.
Hemel Hempstead Bowls Club president Brian Smith said: “We are the only bowls club in Hemel Hempstead and we are in a prime location in Gadebridge Park.
“The club is 93 years old and we have about 100 members, men and women, who bowl with us.”
People interested in going along to the open day should dress in smart casual clothing and flat-bottomed shoes, but all equipment will be provided by the club.
“Just come along and have a chat and get some help and advice, and we’ll show you how to play the game and give you a try on the green,” sain Brian.
Anybody who cannot attend the open day is invited to visit the clubhouse at any point during May when they can have a go on the green.
