CHURCHGOERS will have to work together to find more cash to meet increasing payment contributions to the Church of England.

The amount the Tring team parish pays will go up by £5,000 for 2012 meaning there will be little let up on the financial pressures experienced this year.

The money paid to The Diocese of St Albans pays for clergy stipends, training, housing and pensions went up by £4,000 in 2010 and is increasing again to £115,000 in the New Year.

Team rector Rev Huw Bellis said: “It’s because the parish continues to pay a greater proportion of pension contributions.

“It would be lovely if we didn’t have to increase our amount above the rate of inflation but it’s a reflection of the world financial climate right now.”
