Future stars hit the stage

Budding musical stars have promised a performance worthy of a West End stage.

An ambitious musical theatre class will stage 1950s classic comedy The Pajama Game this weekend.

The group are calling on theatre lovers to watch their efforts, which will be graded as part of their course.

Student Antonia Anderson, 20, of Belswains Lane, Hemel Hempstead, said: "The Pajama Game was picked because its a great show for musical theatre students - its lively, its fun and full of fantastic songs people will love, but it isn't totally light hearted.

"It has meaning, and it has plenty for us to explore."

The cast is made up of Amersham and Wycombe College students and the

show is being staged by youngsters studying technical theatre.

It follows a love story which happens amid labour troubles and pay-rows

in a pajama factory.

Performances take place at the Elgiva Theatre in Chesham tomorrow (Thursday, May 21) at 7.30pm, and at 2.30pm and 7.30pm on Saturday, May 23, and Sunday, May 24.

Tickets are 8 to 10 from the box office on 01494 582900.
