YOUNG people are preparing for their biggest fundraiser of the year at the Festival of Light.
The Christmas lights switch-on in Berkhamsted High Street is on Sunday, December 4.
But Berkhamsted Youth Town Council members have a lot to organise before then.
They will have their own stall and tombola between 3.30pm and 6pm at the event, which attracts hundreds of people each year.
Before then the youngsters will have to go from shop to shop in the town asking for tombola prizes to give to people.
They discussed the plans during their monthly meeting last week. Council clerk Clare Muir, also leader of the Swan Youth Centre in Berkhamsted High Street, said: “The stall is at the moment your only real fundraiser in the year – but it is only successful if you put in the effort to do the tombola.”
The youngsters asked if they could have a more secure lid for the tombola because last year it came open while people were spinning it.
