This year will certainly be one to remember for a heritage group which has already succeeded in raising vital funds to keep its church walls from crumbling.

Fresh from the success of its two year-long Wall Works Challenge, the Friends of Tring Church Heritage is now gearing up for its 25th anniversary in 2015 – with plenty more fundraising activities on the calendar to celebrate.

Honorary president Grahame Senior said: “Having successfully completed the Wall Works Challenge with £51,800 raised to deal with the urgent renovation,we are now entering our 25th birthday year in 2015. We hope all members of the community will join in the celebrations – it’s all about teamwork.”

First on the horizon is a celebratory musical revue at the town’s Victoria Hall, starting at 7.30m on February 20 and 21. Tickets are already selling fast for the event, which costs £15 including a glass of wine and canapes, and £7.50 for juniors.

Looking ahead, the group’s annual Family Fun Day takes place during the first May bank holiday, before its 25th birthday party ties in with Tring Carnival on June 26.

The Friends are always keen to take on new members and help share the ‘history written in the stones’ of Tring’s St Peter and St Paul Church. For more information, email info@fotch.co.uk or visit www.fotch.co.uk.
