Business people backing a foundation helping to fund snow sports training and rehabilitation for those in need gathered at Hemel Hempstead’s Snow Centre.
Town MP Mike Penning, who is minister of state for disabled people and a trustee of the Snow Sports Foundation, said: “I am delighted to support the foundation’s efforts to raise funds to deliver snow sports coaching to people with additional needs.
“We are very lucky to have the Snow Centre on our doorstep and I am delighted that the local business community is getting behind the idea.
“I particularly commend the work of Richard Fetherston and his team at Snowbility. I am constantly impressed with the results they achieve.”
The event was organised by Kerry Underwood of Hemel Hempstead law firm Underwoods Solicitors, who is also a foundation trustee, and Richard Fetherston of Snowbility, and also raised funds for the Lord’s Taverners charity.
Houghton Trading Ltd – owners of the Nisa Local store in Crabtree Lane – presented a cheque for £2,000 to at the event.
Operations director Pat Patel said: “I have seen for myself the great work that has been done and watched young people skiing with increasing confidence.”
