A Hemel Hempstead school has raised more than £1,000 in support of one of its nursery pupils who has a life-limiting condition.

Hobletts Manor Infants School held fancy dress sponsored walks on Thursday in aid of the Lily Foundation, which helps mitochondrial disease sufferers like James Dodd, aged four.

Head teacher Wendy Hull said:

“James is such a remarkable little boy. He led his fellow Ladybirds resolutely round the sponsored walk track in his walker until he began to tire, and then he finished the course with his mum’s help. We were all very proud of him.”

James’ family and friends also cycled from London to Brighton for the charity last month, and continue to run fundraising events.
