Even tortoises shell out a little on Valentine’s Day!

ALL creatures great and small got loved up for Valentine’s Day.

Even the animals at Whipsnade Zoo could not escape the love bug yesterday.

This pair of endangered baby Egyptian tortoises, hatched in February last year, celebrated the occasion by sharing a strawberry.

The duo were part of a small litter born to a group of tortoises seized by HM Customs and Excise last year that were destined for the illegal pet trade.

Also getting in on the action were a pair of saki monkeys who were served up meals by keepers in heart-shaped hampers.

Kos and Rio, who are already parents to Jose and Paulo, tucked into tasty fruit treats served in heart shaped chocolate boxes.
