Elderly pedestrian hurt in collision at Apsley retail car park

Emergency crews were called to a retail car park after an elderly pedestrian was knocked over this afternoon.

Police, fire and ambulance services all attended the scene outside Halfords on London Road, Hemel Hempstead, where the man was involved in a collision with a car at around 12.30pm.

Two engines from the Queensway fire station arrived to assist paramedics with trauma care, before the victim was taken to hospital.

No arrests have been made in what was described by police spokesman Dan Phillips as a serious injury road traffic collision. Officers left the scene at 1.40pm.
