A VILLAGE fair enjoyed its best turnout ever as crowds flocked to take advantage of the weekend weather.

More than 3,000 people attended the Aldbury May Fair on Monday, raising more than £12,000 for good causes in the village and local charities.

Caroline Neill from Friends of Aldbury School, which organises the village’s biggest fundraising event, said: “It was a brilliant day and definitely the best yet.

“The weather was so good and everyone really enjoyed themselves out in the sunshine.”
