WHEN the end-of-school bell rang on Friday, Mr Jones couldn’t wait to get on his bike.
But it wasn’t because he was tired and wanted to get home.
The 27-year-old PE teacher was about to take on a 357-mile cycle ride from the most easterly point in England to the most westerly point in Wales.
David Jones, who works at Bridgewater School in Bridle Way, Berkhamsted, set off from Lowestoft on Saturday and is now in the Brecon Beacons.
He’s been riding for 71 miles a day and will arrive in Rhosson, near St David’s, tomorrow.
He said: “This will give me huge personal satisfaction and I’m hoping to make £1,000 in sponsorship for Bridgewater School. So far I’m up to £700.”
