YOUNGSTERS have been going head-to-head in a bid to become champions of the latest sporting craze to hit playgrounds.

Tailball is a new sport from Mookie Toys, the company famed for creating Swingball, and is an adaptation of badminton.

Pupils from Belswains Primary School in Barnfield, Hemel Hempstead, put their ball skills to the test during a tournament after winning a national competition to write the rules for the new game.

The school also bagged £750 thanks to 10-year-old pupil Shannon Davis who won the Too Cool For Rules competition.
