PUPILS at Longdean were jubilant after posting the school’s second best ever set of results.
Headteacher Rhodri Bryant said: “They are outstanding results. We’re really, really pleased.
“Apart from three years ago it’s the best results ever. The students are absolutely delighted.”
Among the top performers was Sam Blackband, who achieved four A stars, five As and two Bs, and 16-year-old twins Ben and Holly Cottingham, who both got 13 passes. Ben got eight As, three A stars and a B while Holly got 12 As and one A star.
Ben said: “I’m really, really happy about that. Everything went really well – it has set me up.”
Holly said: “I’m over the moon. It’s fabulous.”
Mum Maxine Ambrose, who went to Longdean herself, came down with daughter Tarja to celebrate her results of three As, six Bs and two Cs.
“I came to the school. I’m more nervous now than I was at my own results,” Maxine said.
