TEENAGERS danced their way through a life-changing school trip.
Youngsters from Hemel Hempstead School returned from a visit to South Africa with a whole new outlook on life.
The 38 students, aged 14 to 18, performed at the opening ceremony of the National Schools Festival alongside 18 pupils from the African Mgezwa School. Both schools have been working in partnership since 2007.
As well as experiencing the tourist attractions that South Africa has to offer, the students visited a township to see real life in action.
Student Grace Kershaw, 15, said: “It showed us how different life can be but also how happy they were with their lives.”
During the visit the Hemel Hempstead students also performed in the National Arts Festival in Grahamstown, which is the biggest annual celebration of arts on the African continent.
