A bouncy castle, balloon sculptor and splat the parents game were among the fun things at Swing Gate First and Nursery School’s fete.

Tring Brewery donated a Bring Me Sunshine beer to be sold at the event’s bar.

Parent organiser Jamie Currey said: “People’s comments were that it was one of the best we have had.”

About 500 people went along to the Berkhamsted event, helping to raise around £3,500 for the school.

Home-made goodies were on sale at Chaulden Junior School during its annual arts and crafts fair.

Sales of items from scarves to jewellery and cakes raised around £350.
