Leader of the Labour Party Ed Miliband recently spent two eight-hour shifts shadowing staff at Watford General Hospital - which serves most of Dacorum.
He says this made him eager to become prime minister and take control of the NHS.
Writing on Twitter yesterday, he said: “I recently spent two nights with staff and patients at Watford’s NHS hospital. Every patient I met had such belief and pride in our NHS.
“The NHS staff and patients I recently met in Watford had something in common. They all know these are hard times again for the NHS.”
Mr Miliband recently announced a new policy to ensure that all patients can see their family GP within 48 hours – or within 24 hours if they are in serious need.
Labour is now planning an election broadcast showing its leader shadowing a shift at Watford General.
