A FANCY dress competition has been launched to help put some fizz into bonfire night celebrations.
There will be prizes for the best costumes worn by people at the Berkhamsted Cricket Club fireworks night on Saturday, November 5, from 6.15pm.
You can come to the event as anything you like – as long as your outfit somehow relates to bonfire night.
There will be £75 each for the two best-dressed men, and £75 each for the two best-dressed women. Two £50 prizes will go to the best-dressed children under 10 and two more will go to the best-dressed 10 to 18-year-olds.
The competition was launched by The Rotary Club of Berkhamsted Bulbourne to mark the second year they have organised the event.
Spokesman Geoff Budd said: “It is a great opportunity for everybody in Berkhamsted to have a great deal of fun with all the family and at the same time raise plenty of money for good causes.”
They took over the running of the night in 2010 after the collapse of the Berkhamsted Round Table, who had organised it for more than 20 years.
Tickets for this year’s event can be bought from Berkhamsted market every Sunday from October 8 or by emailing email@example.com
