Donate a gift to make a child’s Christmas special

THERE is still time to help ensure a young person has a Christmas to remember.

The Salvation Army needs donations of gifts to provide presents for children to families in need.

Last year the charity provided 80 parcels for little ones.

But so far this year donations have not been flooding in. “We have had a limited response,” said Major Tim Johnson.

“We need to ask for more otherwise children we have been able to help previously we won’t be able to help this year.”

Superdrug in Marlowes, Hemel Hempstead, is backing the drive by acting as a drop off point for presents.

Unwrapped gifts and gift cards can be handed in at the store until December 18.

The Salvation Army will also provide Christmas day meals to the old, cold and lonely - either at its hall in Waterhouse Street or by delivering to homes.
