A 60-YEAR-OLD will lose her four-legged friend tomorrow after her landlord said the dog must go.

Jackie Hurley, from Ash Road, Tring, has had six-year-old labrador cross Digby since her uncle became too unwell to look after the pet.

She had previously lived with pet dog Dash until he died in June 2009. Digby moved in that December.

Tring Charities, which owns the almhouse where she lives, said the first dog was OK because Jackie was in straitened circumstances. It allowed the second on a temporary basis.

But after Jackie’s uncle died in March this year, they said the dog had to go by tomorrow or she would be thrown out.

Now Jackie has had to hand the dog over to her daughter.
